These are photos of our clothes line, which I've always thought to be kind of rustic.
Here I had the aperture set on the widest opening... I think I would have preferred it on a slightly smaller setting. Also, not very fond of the red canoe in the background, but hey... live and learn.













These next two are fairly similar. I like this one because the background is blue and shadowy, whereas the next one is all golden light.


I like this one for the repetition of lines. If you haven't noticed by now, I really like the effect that trees make as backgrounds. I did that a lot with my dark room photography as well.

  1. Very cool backdrops. I think you're right about a slightly narrower aperture, but what a cool effect. I like the clotheslines going into the distance and out of focus. It seems like a lot of motion from something standing still.

  2. I almost always like the effect made by focusing closely on one point of a long object, like a clothesline... but I like the last photograph here the best. It's really simple, but I really like it.
